Millbank Tower Redevelopment
I led the team and determined the brief for this transformation of the 33-storey, Grade II listed Millbank Tower complex into 206 apartments, 200 key luxury hotel, and a new cultural institute for the BFI. The tower, London's tallest building when it opened in 1963, will gain facilities including a sky bar with river views on the top two floors. The complete replacement of the stainless steel and glass facades will be detailed to match the original 1963 materials and profiles, but with significantly enhanced environmental performance.
